My
journalism classmate, Lily, and I are writing an article for "The
Clipper" newspaper about the Board of Trustees at our college and their
connection with students.
For that,
we decided to take an interview of our college president Dr. David Beyer, we
arranged an appointment with him. We arrived sharp at 9 a.m. in his office. He
gave a warm handshake to both of us then allowed us to have a seat. We then
began the interview.

I started asking questions about The Board of Trustees. We both were asking
questions respectively and getting more than enough answers. He started from
the appointing a Trustee to the retiring of a Trustee as he told us that Gene
Chase's term was completed last month after his 12-years of work as a Trustee.
Bob Bolarjack will replace Gene Chase.

When we
asked about the connection of the Board of Trustees with students, He
said,"ASB President, Teresa regularly reports about
students at BOT meeting."
We
completed our interview and while we were leaving, he suddenly invited both of
us to the BOT meeting and follow-up dinner. We were very overwhelmed.

We
arrived at the BOT meeting. All of the Trustees were there. Dr. Beyer
introduced us as student journalists to the Trustees. Everyone welcomed us. The
meeting started: they discussed about the college budget, college performance
level and many other things. We took an interview of Bob while there was
executive meeting going on, as he was outside of the meeting with us.
After the
meeting, we went to the follow-up dinner. Table number 12 was booked for
us with some other student ambassadors: Vanessa and Indu. Dr. Beyer presented a
speech during dinner. I was charmed by his personality. I met lots of wonderful
people there. Here are some pictures.
